We would like to start off by saying THANK YOU, Swan Creek Horse Rescue, for making our 5 hour one way drive worth every minute.

We had been looking for our next horse for several months and after visiting several places that had supposedly "Kid Safe" or even "Green Broke" horses for sale, which turned out to be wild and couldn't be ridden or saddled we expanded our search area. Fortunately we found Swan Creek Horse Rescue in Fayetteville, TN. Upon arriving at Swan Creek Horse Rescue the first impression is of a clean and well cared for farm with healthy horses. The minute we started handling the horses we could tell they had a solid foundation, these rescue horses were better trained and calmer than many registered "Kid Safe" horses we viewed at other places!

After discussing our wants, needs, and skill levels Mark and Laurie picked out the perfect horses for my family. They were open and honest about each rescue horse's background and temperament and cared enough for the horse future to ensure we were a good fit for each other. I was an experienced rider as a child but am just now getting back into horses as an adult. I rode each of the two horses and Mark and Laurie were right there with me giving me riding tips and pointers. They provided a safe, pressure free environment for me to ride both horses and in the end my husband and I decided to get both of them.

Midnight (aka Gypsy) and Clint were welcomed into our pastures and greeted by the whole family, kids, cats, dogs, and other horses. Both of them mingled right in with little objections from any side. They both are really wonderful horses that love attention, have good manners and are well trained.

Swan Creek Horse Rescue calmed and trained, previously mistreated and starved horses, now they are good family horses. If you ever find yourself at a Greene County, TN Horse Show look for Clint and Gypsy. My entire experience with Laurie and Swan Creek Farms was flawless. The facilities alone told me that Laurie is serious about her work and cares about providing the best possible space for working her horses; even more telling was how patient and methodical she was in her own riding. When I arrived the first morning, Laurie had four horses ready for me to try. She knew each horse personally, could answer any question, and was genuinely invested in finding the right match—for both me and the horse. To this end, she not only asked in advance about what kind of riding I planned to do; she also sought information on what kind of temperament I enjoyed and what kind of relationship I was seeking. There was never any pressure or hurry; I was able to make every decision at my own pace to ensure that I had no doubts about the horse I chose. I even got to take a second visit with the horse I liked so that I could spend one-on-one time with her and make sure we really got along on the ground and in saddle.

Laurie's insight and personal attention helped me to find the perfect horse for me. I've had Skye (formerly Layla) for a week now, and I couldn't be happier. Her training is top notch. She has the sweetest temper. And I simply can't imagine being without her.

My husband and I hadn’t ridden much in several years, but because we both love horses and riding, we decided to try to find two horses to purchase. After searching the internet for weeks and visiting and riding a number of horses, I came across Swan Creek Farm’s web site. I contacted Laurie and explained to her what we were looking for, our levels of riding experience and what kind of riding we were planning to do. Laurie had three horses that she felt would meet our needs and invited us to the farm to see and ride them.

Our visit to Swan Creek Farm could not have been more pleasant. Laurie had the horses waiting for us to “try out.” She provided us with lots of information about each horse and welcomed our questions. It was obvious from spending time with Laurie and her horses that she loves them and provides them with excellent care. She did not pressure us in any way and encouraged us to take as much time as we wanted to get to know each horse.

We found two great horses that fit our needs perfectly! In addition, Laurie was able to supply us with all of the tack we needed to go along with our horses! I am a 59-year-old woman who had been an active horsewoman in the past, but due to various circumstances, I hadn't ridden for about 15 years. Needless to say, I was a bit out-of-practice, so I wanted a good-quality horse that was safe and stable, but still with a bit of "zip".

I found Fancy on the HorseClicks website, and fell in love with her delicate head, soft eye, and gorgeous conformation. And the description of her temperament sounded just like what I was looking for!

I had several phone conversations with Laurie and Mark, but due to the sky-high gas prices and their location being about 200 miles from me, we were having difficulty in getting there to do a test-drive. I felt that I knew both of these terrific young people after all the phone calls, so against all the rules, I made arrangements to purchase and have delivered my "perfect horse", sight unseen!

I have never regretted that decision! Fancy is a beautiful, top-quality horse, exactly as described! She is a delight to ride and God-willing, she has found her "forever home". Thanks so much, Laurie and Mark!
